Best Time to Post on Instagram in Pakistan (2026 Guide)

Last updated: October 22, 2026

The quick answer: for most accounts in Pakistan, a good place to start is weekdays between about 11 AM and 7 PM PKT, with Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons as your first tests. Avoid the very early hours (3 AM to 7 AM). Then check your own Instagram Insights, because your followers matter more than any average.

That is a starting point, not a guarantee. Below we explain what the research says, where it disagrees, and how to find the time that works for your account.

Quick Reference: Where to Start (PKT)

Day First window to test
Monday 2 PM – 4 PM
Tuesday 1 PM – 7 PM
Wednesday 12 PM – 9 PM
Thursday 12 PM – 2 PM
Friday Late morning, or evening after Maghrib
Saturday 3 PM – 8 PM
Sunday One afternoon test post

Monday to Thursday come from the biggest 2026 dataset we found. Friday to Sunday are our own suggestions for Pakistan, explained below.

What the Big Studies Say (and Why They Disagree)

If you have searched this topic before, you have probably seen conflicting answers. That is not your imagination. We looked at three large 2026 sources:

Source What it analysed Main finding
Sprout Social Nearly 2 billion engagements across about 307,000 profiles (late Nov 2025 to late Feb 2026) Best on Mon 2–4 PM, Tue 1–7 PM, Wed 12–9 PM, Thu 12–2 PM in the audience’s local time. Weekends weakest.
HubSpot Its 2026 Instagram Engagement Report, based on respondents 9 AM to 12 PM is best. Friday was picked as the top day by 53% of respondents. 6 AM to 9 AM is the worst.
Later Over 6 million posts, including Reels 5 AM in the audience’s local time zone

Sprout says Fridays have no significant peak. HubSpot’s respondents rate Friday as the best day. Later says 5 AM is best, while HubSpot calls the early morning the worst. The studies measure different accounts, industries and audiences, so none of them can be copied straight onto your page.

What this means for you: use the studies to decide what to test, and let your own numbers make the final call.

Is There Real Data for Pakistan?

We searched for a public, verified, hour-by-hour Instagram dataset for Pakistan and did not find one. Some sites do publish Pakistan-specific tables, but at least one says plainly that its numbers are an “editorial baseline” built from published research, not measured engagement.

So we did three things instead. We took what the large global studies agree on, we looked at who actually uses Instagram in Pakistan, and we pointed you to the one source that is always accurate for your account: your own Insights.

Who Uses Instagram in Pakistan?

NapoleonCat’s estimates put Pakistan at about 25.6 million Instagram users in September 2026, roughly 10.7% of the population. These figures come from Meta’s advertising audience data, so treat them as estimates.

  • About 64% of users are men
  • Ages 18 to 24 are the biggest group, at around 41.5%
  • Ages 25 to 34 are next, at around 38.7%

So about four in five users are under 35. Students and young professionals are often free in the afternoon and evening, which fits the afternoon-to-evening windows that show up in Sprout’s data. Still, your own followers may look quite different from this national picture.

Day-by-Day Guide

All times are PKT. Sprout records activity in the audience’s local time, so for followers in Pakistan its windows translate directly.

Monday: 2 PM to 4 PM. Sprout recommends skipping early morning and using the post-lunch window. Monday suits practical content like tips and how-tos.

Tuesday: 1 PM to 7 PM. Sprout describes this long stretch as one of the strongest periods of the week. If you can only post a few times, start here. Try 1 PM, 4 PM and 7 PM as separate tests.

Wednesday: 12 PM to 9 PM. In Sprout’s data, this is the peak day, with an extra bump around 11 PM.

Thursday: 12 PM to 2 PM. The window narrows to lunch time. Sprout suggests holding back on late-afternoon posts.

Friday: late morning, or after Maghrib. This is where the research disagrees the most. Sprout sees no clear peak, while HubSpot’s respondents rate Friday highly. In Pakistan, also think about Jumu’ah. Many people step away from their phones around prayer time, and the time shifts with season and city, so check your local timing. There is no study behind this one, only common sense.

Saturday: 3 PM to 8 PM. Saturday has the lowest overall engagement in Sprout’s data. But for school and education accounts, it lists Saturday afternoon and evening as a good window, so test it if your audience is students.

Sunday: one afternoon test. Sprout calls Sunday one of the worst days overall. Before you drop it, run a single test post, especially if your content is lifestyle, food or entertainment.

Best Time to Upload Reels in Pakistan

Many guides give Reels their own posting hours. The evidence we found does not support that. Sprout’s analysis found that the best times for Reels mirror its overall windows, because audience activity matters more than the format.

What matters more for Reels is what Instagram rewards. Instagram’s head Adam Mosseri has said that watch time, likes and sends are the three most important ranking signals, and he advises creators to watch average watch time, likes per reach and sends per reach in Insights. Likes count slightly more for people who already follow you, and sends count slightly more for reaching new people. (Social Media Today summary)

Use Trial Reels to test safely. Instagram’s Trial Reels feature shows a Reel to non-followers first. If it does well, you can share it with your followers, or let Instagram do it automatically based on how it performs in the first 72 hours. It is a low-risk way to test an idea before your followers see it.

Best Time by Business Type

Sprout also breaks its data down by industry (in local time). These are global figures, so treat them as a first draft for Pakistani businesses:

  • Food and beverage: weekdays, around 11 AM to 1 PM
  • Retail: weekdays, around 12 PM to 3 PM
  • Schools and education: Tuesday and Wednesday around 11 AM, plus Saturday afternoon and evening
  • Software and tech: weekdays, around 11 AM to 3 PM
  • Travel and hospitality: weekdays, around 11 AM to 4 PM

Things Specific to Pakistan

Ramadan. Routines change a lot. The National reports that in the Middle East, social media use peaks before iftar (around 6 to 7 PM) and again between midnight and 4 AM. That is regional data, not Pakistan-only, so check your Insights during Ramadan to see if your followers behave the same way.

A Facebook and Kantar survey of 954 people in Pakistan (2019) also found that people focus on buying food, clothing and household items during Ramadan. If you sell in those categories, that is a useful angle for your content.

Jumu’ah and prayer times. If many followers are away from their phones at a given time, a post made then starts slowly.

Followers abroad. Pakistan has a single time zone, but if part of your audience lives in the Gulf, the UK or the US, your best slot may fall at an odd hour in Pakistan. Check your top locations in Insights.

How to Find Your Own Best Time

Every source we read ends up here. Your own data beats any benchmark.

  1. Switch to a professional account. Insights are available on Creator and Business accounts, and switching is free.
  2. Open your active times. Go to your profile, tap Professional Dashboard, then Insights, then Total Followers, and scroll down to Most Active Times. According to Shopify’s guide, this needs at least 100 followers.
  3. Test, don’t guess. Follow the plan below.
  4. Judge by the right numbers. Look at average watch time, likes per reach and sends per reach, not just total likes.
  5. Repeat every couple of months. Audiences change, exam seasons come and go, and Ramadan shifts everything.

A Simple 4-Week Test Plan

Week What to do
Week 1 Post similar content at 12–2 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Week 2 Post similar content at 4–6 PM on the same days
Week 3 Post similar content at 7–9 PM on the same days
Week 4 Compare watch time, sends and reach, then repeat the best window

Change only the time. If you change the caption, format and time together, you won’t know what made the difference.

What About TikTok and Facebook?

We did not find a trustworthy Pakistan-specific posting-time dataset for either platform, so we won’t make one up. For a global starting point, Sprout has guides for TikTok and Facebook. Use the same test method as above.

One useful fact: according to NapoleonCat, Facebook had about 69.4 million users in Pakistan in August 2026 (about 29% of the population), against roughly 26.6 million for Instagram. If your audience is broad, Facebook is still worth your time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to post on Instagram in Pakistan?
There is no proven single time. A good first test is weekday afternoons to early evening in PKT, then confirm with your own Insights.

What is the best time to upload Reels in Pakistan?
Sprout’s data suggests Reels follow the same windows as other posts. Focus on watch time and sends, and use Trial Reels to test ideas.

What is the best day to post on Instagram?
Sprout’s data points to Tuesday and Wednesday, while HubSpot’s respondents chose Friday. Test both for your audience.

What is the best time to post on Instagram on Friday in Pakistan?
Avoid Jumu’ah time. Try late morning or the evening after Maghrib, and measure the result.

Does posting time really matter?
It helps, because early reactions help a post get distributed. But content quality, watch time and shares matter a great deal, according to Instagram’s own guidance.

How do I know if today is a good time to post?
Look up today’s weekday in the quick reference table, pick one of its windows, and check Insights to see whether your followers are online then.

The Bottom Line

The big studies disagree, no verified Pakistan dataset exists, and your own Insights are the best guide. Start with weekday afternoons and evenings, avoid the early-morning dead zone, test three windows over four weeks, and keep the one that gets better watch time and more shares.
